About the Artist
My name is George Carrigan and I live in Lovettsville VA. My
wife and I moved here from Buffalo NY back in 1997. We have
5 children, all grown up and on their own, along with 7
grandchildren and counting.

I have always enjoyed woodworking and in 2003 my wife bought
me a lathe for Christmas so that I could expand my passion
working with wood and she could regain control of the remote.

Since I had no formal training on the lathe it has been a hands
on learning experience through a lot of trial and error but well worth it
for me.
Working on the lathe allows me to discover and expose the beauty
and character in wood that Mother Nature has given us. You never
know what you'll find under the bark.
